How to Play

Basic Play: Select five different numbers from 1 to 31. Each play costs $1. You can choose your own numbers using a playslip or select Quick Pick for randomly generated numbers.

Number Selection Methods:

• Manual Selection: Use a Badger 5 playslip to mark your five numbers from 1 to 31
• Quick Pick: Request Quick Pick from the retailer or mark the QP box and the computer will randomly select your five numbers

Multi-Draw/Advance Play: Play your numbers for up to 7 consecutive daily drawings. This is convenient if you want to play the same lucky numbers throughout the week. Request advance play when purchasing or mark it on your playslip.

Ticket Cost Examples:

• 1 play (5 numbers): $1
• 3 plays on one ticket: $3
• 7 consecutive draws (maximum advance): $7

Prize Structure:

• Match 5 of 5: Jackpot (pari-mutuel, starts at $10,000, grows daily)
• Match 4 of 5: $50 (fixed prize)
• Match 3 of 5: $2 (fixed prize)
• Match 2 of 5: $1 (fixed prize)

Jackpot Details: The jackpot starts at a guaranteed $10,000 and increases by a minimum of $1,000 after each drawing where there is no jackpot winner. The actual increase depends on ticket sales and can be significantly more. If there are multiple jackpot winners in a single drawing, the total jackpot prize pool is divided equally among all winners.

Jackpot Payment: All Badger 5 prizes, including the jackpot, are paid as a single lump sum payment (not annuity). Winners receive the full amount in one payment.

Rollover: When there is no jackpot winner, the unclaimed jackpot amount rolls forward to the next drawing and is added to the base amount, creating larger jackpots over time.

Overall Odds:

• Odds of winning jackpot (5 of 5): 1 in 169,911
• Match 4 of 5: 1 in 1,308
• Match 3 of 5: 1 in 53
• Match 2 of 5: 1 in 7
• Overall odds of winning any prize: approximately 1 in 6

Important Rules:

• Players must be 18 years or older
• Tickets cannot be cancelled once purchased
• All sales are final
• Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date
• Sales close at 9:00 PM CT each evening (tickets purchased before 9 PM are entered in that night's drawing)
• The order of numbers drawn does not matter for winning
• Sign your ticket for security

Claiming Prizes:

• Up to $599: Any Wisconsin Lottery retailer
• $600 to $199,999: Wisconsin Lottery office or by mail
• $200,000 and above: Must claim at Madison Validation office
• Bring valid photo ID and signed winning ticket
