How to Play

Basic Play: Select six different numbers from 1 through 49. Each $1 ticket includes TWO plays (two sets of six numbers), making Megabucks an excellent value. You can either pick your own numbers on a playslip or choose Quick Pick to have the lottery terminal randomly generate numbers for you.

Number Selection Methods:

• Manual Selection: Use a Megabucks playslip to mark your six numbers for each play. Since each $1 ticket includes two plays, you'll select two sets of six numbers per dollar spent.
• Quick Pick: Mark the Quick Pick box and the computer will randomly select your numbers. You can Quick Pick some plays and manually pick others on the same ticket.

EZ Match Instant-Win Feature: Add EZ Match for an additional $1 per ticket (covering both plays). When you add EZ Match, five instant-win numbers with prize amounts print below your Megabucks numbers on the ticket. WIN NOW by matching any of your EZ Match numbers to ANY of your Megabucks numbers on the ticket (NOT the numbers drawn in the official drawing). If they match, you instantly win the prize amount shown next to that EZ Match number.

EZ Match Prize Structure: Instant prizes range from $1 to $250. EZ Match prizes are won immediately when you receive your ticket - check for matches before the drawing even occurs. You can win both EZ Match prizes instantly AND regular Megabucks prizes from the drawing.

Multi-Draw/Advance Play: Play your numbers for up to 8 consecutive weeks (16 drawings). This option allows you to buy one ticket that covers multiple future drawings. Request advance play at purchase or mark it on your playslip.

Ticket Cost Examples:

• Standard play (2 sets of numbers): $1
• With EZ Match (2 sets + instant win): $2
• 4 weeks advance (8 drawings): $4 standard or $8 with EZ Match
• 8 weeks maximum advance: $8 standard or $16 with EZ Match

Prize Structure:

• Match 6 of 6: Jackpot (pari-mutuel, starts at $1 million, grows each drawing)
• Match 5 of 6: $500 (fixed prize)
• Match 4 of 6: $30 (fixed prize)
• Match 3 of 6: $2 (fixed prize)

Jackpot Details: The jackpot starts at a guaranteed $1 million and increases with each drawing until won. Minimum increase is typically several thousand dollars per drawing based on ticket sales. If there are multiple jackpot winners in a single drawing, the jackpot pool is divided equally among winners.

Jackpot Payment Options: Winners can choose between:

• Annuity: Paid in 25 annual graduated payments (increases each year)
• Cash Option: One-time lump sum payment equal to the total cash held in the jackpot pool (minimum $400,000)

Winners typically have 60 days after claiming to elect their payment option.

Overall Odds:

• Overall odds of winning any prize: approximately 1 in 56
• Odds of winning jackpot: 1 in 6,991,908

• Match 4: 1 in 517
• Match 3: 1 in 29

Important Rules:

• Players must be 18 years or older
• Tickets cannot be cancelled once purchased
• All sales are final
• Regular game prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date
• EZ Match prizes must be claimed within 180 days of ticket purchase date
• Sales close at 8:59:59 PM CT on drawing nights
• Sign the back of your ticket immediately for ownership protection

Claiming Prizes:

• Up to $599: Any Wisconsin Lottery retailer
• $600 to $199,999: Wisconsin Lottery office (Madison, Milwaukee, or Green Bay) or by mail
• $200,000 and above: Must claim in person at Madison Validation office
• Bring valid photo ID and signed winning ticket
