How to Play

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Purchase Your Ticket: Visit any authorized Tennessee Lottery retailer (over 5,000 locations statewide).

2. Number Selection: Choose your numbers in two separate fields:

   • Main Numbers: Select five numbers from 1 to 35
   • Cash Ball: Select one Cash Ball number from 1 to 5
   • Total: You'll be selecting 6 numbers (5 main + 1 Cash Ball)

3. Selection Methods:

   • Manual Selection: Use a playslip and mark five numbers in the top grid (1-35) and one Cash Ball number in the bottom grid (1-5) in any of the five play areas (A through E)
   • Quick Pick (QP): Mark the QP box on your playslip to have the terminal randomly generate all six numbers (5 main + 1 Cash Ball)
   • Tell the Cashier: Tell the cashier your chosen numbers

4. Add Quick Cash (Optional): Add the Quick Cash instant-win feature for an additional $1 per play. Quick Cash gives you instant prizes up to $500 without waiting for the drawing.

5. Multi-Draw Option: Play the same numbers for up to 12 consecutive drawings on a single ticket. Mark the appropriate Multi-Draw box on your playslip or tell the cashier.

6. Pay for Your Ticket: Each base game costs $1 per play. Add $1 for Quick Cash if selected.

7. Check Your Ticket: Verify all numbers (main and Cash Ball), drawing dates, and Quick Cash selection are correct before leaving the retailer.

8. Check Quick Cash Immediately: If you purchased Quick Cash, check your ticket right away. If any of the Quick Cash numbers match any of your Tennessee Cash numbers, you win instantly.

9. Wait for Drawing: Drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:30 PM CT.

Prize Structure

Tennessee Cash offers seven prize tiers based on matching main numbers and the Cash Ball. All prizes except "Match 2" are pari-mutuel, meaning prize amounts vary based on ticket sales and the number of winners in each tier.

Overall Odds: Approximately 1 in 7 of winning any prize or free ticket.

• Pari-mutuel prizes are calculated by allocating a percentage of ticket sales to each prize category and dividing by the number of winners

• Only one prize per play per drawing

Starting Amount: $200,000

Growth: The jackpot increases with each drawing by a percentage of ticket sales until someone wins

Rollover: If no one matches 5 Main + Cash Ball, the jackpot rolls over and grows for the next drawing

Payout Options: Jackpot winners receive the full advertised jackpot amount as a cash lump sum (no annuity option)

Sharing: If multiple tickets match 5 Main + Cash Ball, the jackpot is divided equally among winners

Quick Cash Add-On Feature

Quick Cash is an instant-win feature that gives you immediate prizes without waiting for the drawing.

How Quick Cash Works:

• Add Quick Cash to any Tennessee Cash play for an additional $1 per play
• Your ticket will print five Quick Cash numbers with prize amounts next to them
• If any of your five Quick Cash numbers match any of your five main Tennessee Cash numbers, you instantly win the prize amount shown next to the matching Quick Cash number
• You can win multiple Quick Cash prizes if multiple Quick Cash numbers match your Tennessee Cash numbers
• Quick Cash prizes are completely separate from the main drawing prizes
• Maximum instant win: $500 per ticket

• Prize amounts on each ticket vary
• Typical prize amounts: $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $200, $500
• Overall odds of winning any Quick Cash prize: approximately 1 in 4.5

Quick Cash Example:

• Your Tennessee Cash numbers: 5, 12, 23, 28, 35 (Cash Ball: 3)
• Your Quick Cash numbers: 12 ($10), 18 ($5), 23 ($50), 29 ($2), 35 ($500)
• Matches: 12 matches (win $10), 23 matches (win $50), 35 matches (win $500)
• Total instant winnings: $10 + $50 + $500 = $560
• You still play in the regular Tennessee Cash drawing for additional prizes

Quick Cash Cost:

• Base $1 play becomes $2 total ($1 base + $1 Quick Cash)

• The Cash Ball significantly affects your prize tier

Cash Ball Impact:

• Match 5 main + Cash Ball: Jackpot (1 in 1,623,160 odds)
• Match 5 main only: Second prize tier (1 in 324,632 odds) - 5× better odds but much smaller prize
• Similarly for 4-match and 3-match tiers

Ticket Pricing

• Base Game: $1 per play
• With Quick Cash: $2 per play ($1 base + $1 Quick Cash)
• Multi-Draw (no Quick Cash): $1 × number of drawings (up to 12 drawings = $12)
• Multi-Draw with Quick Cash: $2 × number of drawings (up to 12 drawings = $24)

Prize Claiming

• Prizes $1-$599: Redeem at any Tennessee Lottery retailer
• Prizes $600+: Must be claimed at Tennessee Lottery headquarters (20 Metro Center Blvd, Nashville, TN 37210) or regional offices (Chattanooga, Jackson, Knoxville, Memphis), or by mail with completed claim form and signed ticket
• Quick Cash Instant Prizes: All Quick Cash prizes under $600 can be claimed immediately at any retailer
• Free Tickets: Can be exchanged for a new Tennessee Cash Quick Pick ticket at any retailer
• Claim Deadline: 180 days from drawing date. After 180 days, prizes are forfeited.
• Tax Requirements: Prizes $600+ require IRS Form W-2G completion
