How to Play

Pick 3 is played by selecting three numbers, each from 0 to 9, and choosing a play type that determines how you win. You can select your own numbers or use Quick Pick for random selection.

Play Types:

1. Straight: Match all three winning numbers in the exact order drawn. This is the highest-paying play type.

   • Cost: $1 per play
   • Prize: $600
   • Odds: 1 in 1,000
   • Example: If you play 1-2-3 Straight and the winning numbers are 1-2-3, you win $600.

2. Box (6-Way): Match all three winning numbers in any order when all three digits are different.

   • Cost: $1 per play
   • Prize: $100
   • Odds: 1 in 166.67
   • Example: If you play 1-2-3 Box and the winning numbers are 3-1-2, you win $100.

3. Box (3-Way): Match all three winning numbers in any order when two digits are the same.

   • Cost: $1 per play
   • Prize: $200
   • Odds: 1 in 333.33
   • Example: If you play 1-1-2 Box and the winning numbers are 2-1-1, you win $200.

4. Straight/Box: Combines Straight and Box bets on one ticket. You win both prizes if your numbers match in exact order, or just the Box prize if they match in any order.

   • Cost: $1 per play (50 cents on Straight, 50 cents on Box)
   • Prize: $600 (Straight match) or $100/$200 (Box match)
   • Allows you to cover both play types with a single wager.

5. Combo: This play type automatically generates tickets for all possible Straight combinations of your three numbers. The cost varies based on how many unique combinations exist.

   • Match 3 numbers in exact position: $100 - Odds: 1 in 1,000
   • Match 2 numbers in exact position: $8 - Odds: 1 in 37.04
   • Match 1 number in exact position: $1 - Odds: 1 in 4

Overall Odds: The overall odds of winning depend on your play type, but with nine ways to win across all play types, Pick 3 offers excellent winning opportunities.

Number Selection: Mark three numbers from 0 to 9 on your play slip in the positions labeled First Digit, Second Digit, and Third Digit. Each digit is selected independently, so you can choose the same number multiple times (e.g., 1-1-1 or 5-5-7).

Quick Pick: Mark the QP (Quick Pick) box and the lottery terminal will randomly select your three numbers.

Multi-Draw: You can play the same numbers for up to 84 consecutive drawings by selecting the multi-draw option. This allows you to play for up to 12 weeks without returning to the retailer.

Multiple Plays: Each play slip allows for multiple sets of numbers. You can play up to 5 different number combinations on a single ticket.

Prize Payments: All Pick 3 prizes are paid as a single cash payment. Prizes up to $599 can be claimed at any Nebraska Lottery retailer. Prizes of $600 must be claimed at Nebraska Lottery headquarters or by mail.

Claiming Deadline: All Nebraska Lottery prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.
