How to Play

To play Missouri Pick 4, choose four numbers from 0 to 9 (digits can be the same or different). You can select your own numbers or use Quick Pick for randomly generated numbers. Select your wager amount: $0.50 or $1.00. Choose one of the play types described below. Select which drawing(s) you want to enter: Midday, Evening, or Both.

Play Types:

1. Straight: Your four numbers must match the winning numbers in the exact order drawn. Prize: $3,000 for a $0.50 wager, $6,000 for a $1.00 wager. This is the top prize. Odds: 1 in 10,000.

2. Box: Your four numbers must match the winning numbers in any order. Box plays come in four varieties:

   • 4-Way Box: Three numbers are the same (e.g., 1112). Four possible winning combinations. Prize: approximately $600 for a $0.50 wager, $1,200 for a $1.00 wager.
   • 6-Way Box: Two pairs (e.g., 1122). Six possible winning combinations. Prize: approximately $400 for a $0.50 wager, $800 for a $1.00 wager.
   • 12-Way Box: One pair and two unique numbers (e.g., 1123). Twelve possible winning combinations. Prize: approximately $200 for a $0.50 wager, $400 for a $1.00 wager.
   • 24-Way Box: All four numbers are different (e.g., 1234). Twenty-four possible winning combinations. Prize: approximately $100 for a $0.50 wager, $200 for a $1.00 wager.

3. Straight/Box: A combination bet that places half your wager on a Straight bet and half on a Box bet. If your numbers match in exact order, you win both Straight and Box prizes combined. If they match in any other order (but not exact), you win only the Box prize.

4. Front Pair: Match the first two numbers drawn in exact order (the last two numbers don't matter). Prize: $30 for a $0.50 wager, $60 for a $1.00 wager. Odds: 1 in 100.

5. Back Pair: Match the last two numbers drawn in exact order (the first two numbers don't matter). Prize: $30 for a $0.50 wager, $60 for a $1.00 wager. Odds: 1 in 100.

6. Middle Pair: Match the middle two numbers (2nd and 3rd positions) drawn in exact order (the first and fourth numbers don't matter). Prize: $30 for a $0.50 wager, $60 for a $1.00 wager. Odds: 1 in 100.

7. Front Three: Match the first three numbers drawn in exact order (the fourth number doesn't matter). Prize: $300 for a $0.50 wager, $600 for a $1.00 wager. Odds: 1 in 1,000.

8. Back Three: Match the last three numbers drawn in exact order (the first number doesn't matter). Prize: $300 for a $0.50 wager, $600 for a $1.00 wager. Odds: 1 in 1,000.

Wild Ball Add-On: Wild Ball is an optional add-on that doubles the cost of your Pick 4 play. When you add Wild Ball, an additional "Wild Ball" number (0-9) is drawn after the regular Pick 4 drawing. The Wild Ball can replace any one of the four winning numbers to create additional winning combinations, significantly increasing your chances of winning. For example, if the winning numbers are 1-2-3-4 and the Wild Ball is 7, then 7-2-3-4, 1-7-3-4, 1-2-7-4, and 1-2-3-7 are also winning combinations. Wild Ball prizes are separate from regular Pick 4 prizes. Example: A $1 Box play with Wild Ball could win up to $1,520 if multiple Wild Ball combinations hit (e.g., four Wild Ball Box prizes of $380 each).

Multi-Draw: Purchase your numbers for up to 14 consecutive drawings. You can select "Midday" only, "Evening" only, or "Both" for each day.

Quick Pick: Have the lottery terminal randomly generate your four numbers.

Play Slip: Fill out a Pick 4 play slip at any Missouri Lottery retailer by marking your numbers, play type, wager amount, and drawing time(s).

Strategy Notes: Straight bets offer the highest payouts but are hardest to win (1 in 10,000 odds). Box bets offer more ways to win with lower payouts - the more unique your numbers, the more combinations you cover (24-Way) but the lower the prize. Pair and Three plays focus on partial matches for moderate wins with better odds. Wild Ball dramatically improves your odds for double the cost.
