How to Play

Georgia FIVE is different from most lottery games because it's all about position. Instead of just matching numbers, you need to match them in their exact positions to win. This positional matching system creates 15 unique ways to win, from matching just the first or last number for $1, all the way up to matching all five numbers in exact order for the $10,000 top prize.

Number Selection: Choose five single digits, each from 0 through 9. Each of your five positions can be any digit from 0-9, and you can use the same digit multiple times (like 5-5-5-5-5 or 1-2-3-4-5). Use the Quik Pik option to have the computer randomly select your five digits, or manually choose your numbers on a playslip at any Georgia Lottery retailer.

Cost Per Play: Each play costs $1.00. You can purchase up to 5 plays per ticket, meaning you can play up to 5 different five-digit combinations on a single ticket for $5.00 total.

Drawing Selection: Choose which drawing(s) you want to enter:

• Midday: 12:29 PM ET
• Evening: 6:59 PM ET
• Next 2 consecutive drawings: Automatically enter both the next midday and evening drawings
• Multi-Draw: Play your numbers for up to 7 consecutive drawings (up to 14 individual draws since there are 2 per day)

How to Win - The 15 Ways: Georgia FIVE offers 15 distinct winning combinations based on positional matching. Your numbers must match the drawn numbers in the exact positions indicated:

1. All 5 Numbers in Order - $10,000 prize (Odds: 1 in 100,000)

   • Match: Position 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5
   • Example: You play 1-2-3-4-5, drawing is 1-2-3-4-5

2. First 4 Numbers - $225 prize (Odds: 1 in 5,556)

   • Match: Position 1, 2, 3, and 4 (position 5 doesn't match)
   • Example: You play 1-2-3-4-5, drawing is 1-2-3-4-0

3. Last 4 Numbers - $225 prize (Odds: 1 in 5,556)

   • Match: Position 2, 3, 4, and 5 (position 1 doesn't match)
   • Example: You play 1-2-3-4-5, drawing is 0-2-3-4-5

4. First 3 Numbers - $20 prize (Odds: 1 in 617)

   • Match: Position 1, 2, and 3 only
   • Example: You play 1-2-3-4-5, drawing is 1-2-3-0-0

5. Last 3 Numbers - $20 prize (Odds: 1 in 617)

   • Match: Position 3, 4, and 5 only

6. First 3 + Last 1 Number - $21 prize (Odds: 1 in 11,111)

Understanding Positional Matching: The key to Georgia FIVE is understanding that only position matters. If you play 1-2-3-4-5 and the drawing is 1-9-9-9-5, you win $2 for matching the first and last positions (Way #13). The middle three numbers don't affect this prize even though they don't match. Each ticket can win only one prize - the highest prize it qualifies for.

Overall Odds: The overall odds of winning any prize in Georgia FIVE are 1 in 5.26, making it one of the better odds among Georgia draw games.

Drawing Process: Each drawing uses a certified Random Number Generator to independently select five single digits (0-9), creating the five-digit winning number.

Playing Strategy: Because the last position has the best odds of matching (1 in 6 for just the last number), some players focus on selecting meaningful numbers for that position. Others use Quick Pick to ensure truly random selections. Since you can play up to 5 different number combinations per ticket, some players spread their bets across different number patterns.

Claiming Prizes: All prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date. Prizes up to $600 can be claimed at any Georgia Lottery retailer. Prizes over $600 require a claim form and can be submitted at district offices, by mail, or at Georgia Lottery headquarters.
