How to Play

Basic Play: Select five different numbers from 1 to 45. Each $5 ticket includes TWO sets of five numbers, giving you two chances to win per ticket. You can choose your own numbers or use Quick Pick for randomly generated numbers.

Number Selection Methods:

• Manual Selection: Use a Cowboy Draw playslip and fill out at least two panels (since each ticket includes two plays). Mark five numbers from 1 to 45 in each panel using pencil or blue/black ink. No red ink or felt-tip markers.
• Quick Pick: Request Quick Pick from the lottery clerk or mark the QP box on your playslip to have the lottery terminal randomly select your numbers.

Multi-Draw/Advance Play: Play the same numbers for multiple consecutive drawings. You can purchase tickets for 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, or 20 consecutive drawings. This allows you to play your favorite numbers across multiple drawing dates with a single purchase. If you choose 10 drawings, you'll play in the next 10 Cowboy Draw drawings (5 weeks of Monday/Thursday draws).

Ticket Cost Examples:

• 1 ticket (2 plays): $5
• 2 consecutive drawings (4 plays): $10
• 5 consecutive drawings (10 plays): $25
• 10 consecutive drawings (20 plays): $50
• 20 consecutive drawings maximum (40 plays): $100

Prize Structure:

• Match 5 of 5: Jackpot (progressive, starts at $250,000)
• Match 4 of 5: $1,000 (fixed prize)
• Match 3 of 5: $20 (fixed prize)
• Match 2 of 5: $5 (fixed prize)

Jackpot Details: The jackpot is pari-mutuel and starts at a guaranteed $250,000. It increases with each drawing based on ticket sales until someone matches all five numbers. If there are multiple jackpot winners in a single drawing, the total jackpot prize pool is divided equally among all winners. Recent jackpots have exceeded $500,000 and can grow even higher.

Jackpot Payment: All Cowboy Draw prizes, including the jackpot, are paid as a single lump sum cash payment (not annuity). Winners receive the entire amount in one payment.

• Overall odds of winning any prize: 1 in 6
• Match 5 of 5 (Jackpot): 1 in 610,880
• Match 4 of 5: 1 in 3,054.4
• Match 3 of 5: 1 in 78.3
• Match 2 of 5: 1 in 6.2

Important Rules:

• Players must be 18 years or older
• Each ticket costs $5 and includes two plays (two sets of five numbers)
• Tickets cannot be cancelled once purchased - they can only be cancelled at the original retail location on the same day of purchase
• All sales are final after the day of purchase
• Prizes must be claimed within 180 days from the draw date
• Sales close at 1:45 PM Mountain Time (MT) on drawing days (Monday and Thursday)
• Sales reopen at 2:05 PM MT after each drawing
• The order of numbers drawn does not matter for winning
• Sign the back of your ticket immediately for ownership protection

• Claim prizes at authorized Wyoming Lottery retailers or WyoLotto offices
• Bring valid photo ID and signed winning ticket
• Prizes must be claimed within 180 days

Payback Information: The prize structure includes a 47% payback rate for the jackpot, 7% for matching 4 numbers, 5% for matching 3 numbers, and 16% for matching 2 numbers, totaling approximately 75% of sales returned as prizes.
