How to Play

Number Selection: Choose three numbers from 0 to 9. Each number can be any digit, so you can select the same digit multiple times (e.g., 1-1-1, 2-2-3, or 5-6-7). You have complete freedom in choosing your three-digit combination.

Play Slip Instructions: Each Pick 3 play slip contains multiple boards. Use a heavy vertical mark with blue or black ink or pencil to mark your selections. Red ink is not permitted and may invalidate your ticket. Do not use erasers. Mark three digits clearly in the number selection area, choosing one digit from each column (first digit, second digit, third digit).

Play Type Selection - Exact Order vs. Any Order:

Exact Order (Straight): Your three digits must match the three winning numbers drawn in the exact same positions to win. For example, if you play 1-2-3 and the winning numbers are 1-2-3, you win $500. If the winning numbers are 2-1-3 or 3-2-1, you do not win with an Exact Order play. This play type offers higher prizes but lower odds of winning.

• Prize: $500 per $1 wager
• Odds: 1 in 1,000

Any Order (Box): Your three digits must match the three winning numbers drawn in any order. This play type is further classified into 3-Way Box and 6-Way Box depending on your number selection:

6-Way Box: All three digits are unique (e.g., 1-2-3, 4-5-6). There are six possible arrangements of these numbers.

• Prize: $80 per $1 wager
• Odds: 1 in 166.67
• Example: If you play 1-2-3, you win if the numbers drawn are 1-2-3, 1-3-2, 2-1-3, 2-3-1, 3-1-2, or 3-2-1

3-Way Box: Two of the three digits are identical (e.g., 1-1-2, 5-5-7). There are only three possible arrangements of these numbers.

• Prize: $160 per $1 wager
• Odds: 1 in 333.33
• Example: If you play 1-1-2, you win if the numbers drawn are 1-1-2, 1-2-1, or 2-1-1

Wager Amount: Each Pick 3 play costs $1 per draw. All wagers are fixed at this amount.

Drawing Selection: Choose whether to enter the Midday drawing (approximately 1:10 PM CT), the Evening drawing (approximately 9:10 PM CT), or Both drawings. If you select Both, you will be charged $2 per board ($1 for midday + $1 for evening).

Multi-Draw Options: You can purchase the same number selection for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 14, 21, or 28 consecutive draws using the multi-draw feature on your play slip. This ensures your numbers are entered automatically in all future selected drawings without needing to visit a retailer each time. Multi-draw tickets are convenient for players who have favorite numbers they play regularly.

Quick Pick: Request a Quick Pick ticket from your retailer or mark QP on your play slip. The computer will randomly select three digits for you. You still choose whether to play Exact Order or Any Order and which drawing time(s) to enter.

Overall Odds: The odds of winning vary based on your play type selection, ranging from 1 in 1,000 for Exact Order to 1 in 166.67 for 6-Way Box.

Online Play: Kansas Pick 3 is available for purchase online through the Kansas Lottery's PlayOn® platform, allowing registered players to buy tickets from their computer or mobile device.

Prize Claim Period: Winners have 365 days from the drawing date to claim prizes.
