How to Play

Idaho Pick 3 is Idaho's exciting daily numbers game that gives you the flexibility to choose your own play style. Whether you want to go for bigger prizes with exact order matching, or better odds with any order matching, Pick 3 has options for every type of player. With two drawings every single day, you have 14 chances to win each week.

Number Selection: Choose three digits from 0 through 9 for each play. Each digit is selected independently, so you can pick the same number multiple times (like 5-5-5, 1-1-2, or 7-7-7). You can select your own numbers by filling out a playslip at any Idaho Lottery retailer, or ask for a Quick Pick to have the lottery terminal randomly generate three digits for you.

Wager Amounts: Choose how much you want to wager per play:

• $1.00 per play (standard wager)
• $2.00 per play (doubles all prize amounts)
• $5.00 per play (multiplies all prizes by 5)

Your wager amount directly multiplies your potential winnings. For example, a Straight win pays $500 on a $1 wager, $1,000 on a $2 wager, and $2,500 on a $5 wager.

Drawing Selection: Choose which drawing(s) to enter:

• Day Drawing: 1:59 PM MT
• Night Drawing: 7:59 PM MT
• Both (Day and Night)
• Multi-Draw: Play the same numbers for up to 70 consecutive drawings

Play Types Explained in Detail:

1. EXACT ORDER (Straight): Your three numbers must match the winning numbers in the exact order they are drawn. This is the most challenging play type but offers the highest prizes.

   • Prize: $500 on $1 wager, $1,000 on $2, $2,500 on $5
   • Odds: 1 in 1,000
   • Example: You play 1-2-3 Exact Order. You win only if the drawing is exactly 1-2-3.

2. ANY ORDER (Box): Your three numbers can match the winning numbers in any order. The odds and prizes depend on whether you have a 3-way or 6-way combination:

   3-Way Any Order (two digits are the same):

   • Prize: $160 on $1 wager, $320 on $2, $800 on $5
   • Odds: 1 in 333
   • Example: You play 1-1-2 Any Order. You win if the drawing is 1-1-2, 1-2-1, or 2-1-1.

   6-Way Any Order (all three digits are different):

   • Prize: $80 on $1 wager, $160 on $2, $400 on $5
   • Odds: 1 in 167
   • Example: You play 1-2-3 Any Order. You win if the drawing is 1-2-3, 1-3-2, 2-1-3, 2-3-1, 3-1-2, or 3-2-1.

3. EXACT/ANY (Combination of Exact and Any Order): This play type covers both Exact Order and Any Order on the same ticket. You win the higher prize if your numbers match exactly, or the lower prize if they match in any order.

   Exact 3-Way (wins for exact OR any order on 3-way numbers):

   • Exact match prize: $330 on $1 wager
   • Any order match prize: $80 on $1 wager
   • Odds: 1 in 333

   Any 3-Way (any order portion only):

   • Prize: $80 on $1 wager
   • Odds: 1 in 333

   Exact 6-Way (wins for exact OR any order on 6-way numbers):

   • Exact match prize: $290 on $1 wager
   • Any order match prize: $40 on $1 wager
   • Odds: 1 in 167

   Any 6-Way (any order portion only):

   • Prize: $40 on $1 wager
   • Odds: 1 in 167

4. FRONT PAIR: Match only the first two numbers in exact order. The third number doesn't matter at all.

   • Prize: $50 on $1 wager, $100 on $2, $250 on $5
   • Odds: 1 in 100
   • Example: You play Front Pair 1-2. You win if the drawing is 1-2-X, where X can be any digit from 0-9.

5. BACK PAIR: Match only the last two numbers in exact order. The first number doesn't matter at all.

   • Prize: $50 on $1 wager, $100 on $2, $250 on $5
   • Odds: 1 in 100
   • Example: You play Back Pair 2-3. You win if the drawing is X-2-3, where X can be any digit from 0-9.

SUM IT UP! Add-On Feature: Sum It Up is an exciting add-on option that costs an extra $1 per dollar wagered (so $1 for a $1 wager, $2 for a $2 wager, etc.). With Sum It Up, you win if the sum of your three numbers equals the sum of the three drawn numbers, regardless of the order or which specific numbers were drawn.

Sum It Up Prize Structure (based on $1 wager):

• If the sum equals the drawn sum: Prize varies based on the sum value
• Example: You play 2-3-4 (sum = 9) with Sum It Up. If the drawing is 1-3-5 (sum = 9), you win the Sum It Up prize even though the individual numbers are different.
• Sum It Up is NOT available with Front Pair or Back Pair play types
• Sum It Up prizes scale with your base wager amount

Multi-Draw Savings: Multi-draw tickets can be purchased for up to 70 consecutive drawings. This is ideal for players with favorite numbers who want to ensure they never miss a drawing. You pay upfront for all draws, and your numbers are automatically entered for each selected drawing.

Drawing Process: Each Pick 3 drawing uses a certified random number generator or ball machine to independently select three single-digit numbers (0-9). Drawings are conducted at Idaho Lottery headquarters in Boise and results are immediately posted online and distributed to retailers.

• Exact Order is best for players who want maximum prizes and don't mind lower odds
• Any Order is perfect for players who want better odds with decent prizes

Claiming Prizes:

• Prizes up to $599: Claim at any Idaho Lottery retailer
• Prizes $600 to $100,000: Claim at any Idaho Lottery office or by mail
• Time Limit: All prizes must be claimed within 180 days from the draw date
• Winners must be 18 years or older and must sign the back of winning tickets
