How to Play

Play 3 is Delaware's classic daily numbers game where you pick your favorite three-digit number, choose how you want to play it, and select your wager amount. The game offers tremendous flexibility with six distinct play types and the ability to play in Day drawings, Night drawings, or both.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Choose Your Numbers: Pick three digits from 0 to 9 (one for each column on the playslip), or use the Quick Pick option to have the computer randomly select your numbers.

2. Select Day, Night, or Both: Decide whether you want to enter the Day drawing (1:58 PM), Night drawing (7:57 PM), or both drawings with the same numbers.

3. Choose Your Bet Amount: The minimum bet per Play 3 game is $0.50. You can wager $0.50 or $1.00 per play.

4. Select Your Play Type:

   STRAIGHT

   • Your three-digit number must match the winning numbers in exact order
   • Most difficult to win but offers the highest prize
   • $0.50 wager = $250 prize
   • $1.00 wager = $500 prize
   • Odds: 1 in 1,000
   • Example: You pick 123, winning number must be 1-2-3

   3-WAY BOX

   • For numbers with two identical digits (e.g., 112, 223, 566, 900)
   • Match the three digits in any order
   • $0.50 wager = $80 prize (estimated)
   • $1.00 wager = $160 prize
   • Odds: 1 in 333
   • Example: You pick 112, winning numbers could be 1-1-2, 1-2-1, or 2-1-1

   6-WAY BOX

   • For numbers with three different digits (e.g., 123, 456, 789)
   • Match the three digits in any order
   • $0.50 wager = $40 prize (estimated)
   • $1.00 wager = $80 prize
   • Odds: 1 in 167
   • Example: You pick 123, winning numbers could be 1-2-3, 1-3-2, 2-1-3, 2-3-1, 3-1-2, or 3-2-1

   FRONT PAIR

   • Match only the first two digits in exact order
   • The third digit can be any number
   • $0.50 wager = $25 prize
   • $1.00 wager = $50 prize
   • Odds: 1 in 100
   • Example: You pick 12X, winning numbers could be 120, 121, 122... through 129

   BACK PAIR

   • Match only the last two digits in exact order
   • The first digit can be any number
   • $0.50 wager = $25 prize
   • $1.00 wager = $50 prize
   • Odds: 1 in 100
   • Example: You pick X23, winning numbers could be 023, 123, 223... through 923

   STRAIGHT/BOX

   • Combines a Straight bet and a Box bet on the same ticket
   • Wager is split equally: $1.00 total = $0.50 Straight + $0.50 Box
   • If you match in exact order, you win both the Straight and Box prizes
   • If you match in any order (but not exact), you win only the Box prize
   • Minimum wager: $1.00
   • 3-Way Straight/Box: $250 for exact match or $80 for any order match
   • 6-Way Straight/Box: $250 for exact match or $40 for any order match
   • Odds: 1 in 333 (3-way) or 1 in 166 (6-way)

   COMBINATION

   • Automatically plays multiple Straight bets covering all possible arrangements of your three digits
   • 3-Way Combo: Costs $1.50 (3 combinations × $0.50 each)
   • 6-Way Combo: Costs $3.00 (6 combinations × $0.50 each)
   • Guarantees you win $500 if your three digits are drawn in any order
   • Prize for winning combo: $500
   • Odds: 1 in 1,000 (for each combination)

5. Multi-Draw Option: You can play up to seven consecutive drawings in advance. Select specific days up to a week ahead for either Day or Night drawings or both.

Important Rules:

• You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase Delaware Lottery tickets
• The Lottery reserves the right to limit sales of tickets for bets on any specific number at any time if liability limits are approached
• Prizes must be claimed within one year (365 days) from the date of the drawing
• Tickets can only be cancelled before the drawing if presented to the original retailer where purchased
• The ticket is your only valid receipt for claiming prizes
