How to Play

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Purchase Your Ticket: Visit any authorized Arizona Lottery retailer or vending machine.

2. Choose Your Play Type: Select one of six different play types (detailed below). This determines how your numbers must match to win.

3. Number Selection: Choose a three-digit number (000-999) using one of these methods:

   • Manual Selection: Use a selection slip and mark your three numbers, then hand it to the cashier
   • Quick Pick: Request Quick Pick and let the computer randomly generate your three digits
   • Tell the Cashier: Simply tell the cashier your chosen numbers

4. Choose Number of Games: Decide whether to:

   • 1 Play: Play one set of numbers for $1 (win up to $500)
   • 2 Play: Play two different sets of numbers for $1 total (win up to $250 per game)

5. Multi-Draw Option: Play your numbers for up to 12 consecutive drawings on a single ticket. Tell the cashier how many drawings you want.

6. Pay for Your Ticket: Standard cost is $1 for either one play or two plays.

7. Check Your Ticket: Verify all numbers, play type, and drawing dates are correct before leaving.

Play Types and Prize Structure

Pick 3 offers six different ways to play, each with different matching requirements and prize amounts:

1. STRAIGHT

How to Win: Your three numbers must match the winning numbers in exact order.

Example: You pick 1-2-3. You win only if the draw is exactly 1-2-3.

Prizes:

• 1 Play ($1 wager): $500
• 2 Play ($0.50 per game): $250 per winning game

Odds: 1 in 1,000

2. BOX 3-WAY

How to Win: Two of your three numbers must be identical (like 1-1-2 or 5-5-7). Your numbers can match the winning numbers in any order.

Example: You pick 1-1-2. You win if the draw is 1-1-2, 1-2-1, or 2-1-1.

Prizes:

• 1 Play ($1 wager): $160
• 2 Play ($0.50 per game): $80 per winning game

Odds: 1 in 333

3. BOX 6-WAY

How to Win: All three numbers you select must be different (like 1-2-3 or 4-7-9). Your numbers can match the winning numbers in any order.

Example: You pick 1-2-3. You win if the draw is 1-2-3, 1-3-2, 2-1-3, 2-3-1, 3-1-2, or 3-2-1.

Prizes:

• 1 Play ($1 wager): $80
• 2 Play ($0.50 per game): $40 per winning game

4. STRAIGHT/BOX 3-WAY

How to Win: This combines Straight and Box 3-Way bets. You win a higher prize if your numbers match in exact order, or a lower prize if they match in any order. Two of your three numbers must be identical.

Example: You pick 1-1-2. If the draw is exactly 1-1-2, you win the Straight prize. If the draw is 1-2-1 or 2-1-1, you win the Box prize.

Prizes:

• 1 Play ($1 wager): $330 (Straight) or $80 (Box)
• 2 Play ($0.50 per game): $165 (Straight) or $40 (Box) per winning game

Odds: 1 in 1,000 (Straight) or 1 in 333 (Box)

5. STRAIGHT/BOX 6-WAY

How to Win: This combines Straight and Box 6-Way bets. You win a higher prize if your numbers match in exact order, or a lower prize if they match in any order. All three numbers must be different.

Example: You pick 1-2-3. If the draw is exactly 1-2-3, you win the Straight prize. If the draw is any other arrangement (1-3-2, 2-1-3, 2-3-1, 3-1-2, or 3-2-1), you win the Box prize.

Prizes:

• 1 Play ($1 wager): $290 (Straight) or $40 (Box)
• 2 Play ($0.50 per game): $145 (Straight) or $20 (Box) per winning game

Odds: 1 in 1,000 (Straight) or 1 in 167 (Box)

6. FRONT PAIR

How to Win: Match only the first two numbers in exact order. The third number doesn't matter.

Example: You pick 1-2-X (where X can be any number). You win if the draw starts with 1-2, regardless of the third digit (like 1-2-0, 1-2-5, 1-2-9, etc.).

Prizes:

• 1 Play ($1 wager): $50
• 2 Play ($0.50 per game): $25 per winning game

Odds: 1 in 100

7. BACK PAIR

How to Win: Match only the last two numbers in exact order. The first number doesn't matter.

Example: You pick X-2-3 (where X can be any number). You win if the draw ends with 2-3, regardless of the first digit (like 0-2-3, 5-2-3, 9-2-3, etc.).

Prizes:

• 1 Play ($1 wager): $50
• 2 Play ($0.50 per game): $25 per winning game

Odds: 1 in 100

Overall Odds

The overall odds vary by play type as shown above. The most common play types are:

• Straight: Best prize but hardest to win (1 in 1,000)
• Box 6-Way: Balanced odds and prize (1 in 167)
• Pairs: Easiest to win but smaller prizes (1 in 100)

Ticket Pricing

• Standard Play: $1 per ticket (covers either 1 play or 2 plays)
• Multi-Draw: $1 multiplied by number of drawings (up to 12)

Prize Claiming

• Prizes $1-$599: Redeem at any Arizona Lottery retailer
• Prizes $600+: Complete a Winner's Claim Form and submit by mail or in person at Arizona Lottery offices in Phoenix or Tucson
• Claim Deadline: All prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date
